Considered a ward of Addu City. |
Maradhoo-Feydhoo (Dhivehi: މަރަދޫފޭދޫ) is a district of Addu City, in the Maldives. The district borders the district of Maradhoo as they both share the same natural island. After Addu City became a city, the Maradhoo-Feydhoo district got extended to include the previous administrative island of Feydhoo.
Refugees of Feydhoo were transferred to Maradhoo during the British rule in addu atoll. Those people were placed in the houses of Maradhoo and later the land of maradhoo was given to these refugees. The area was later named as Maradhoo feydhoo and a separate island office was built. Though at that time it was believed that The people of Maradhoo did a big favour for refugees from Feydhoo Island, people of Maradhoo now believe that Mradhoo people did not favour to them, but did benefited from them in a way , that they accepted these poor people in their homes only for the sake of rashan that the people of Maradhoo feydhoo were getting from the Govt. If then Maradhoo people did not accept them in the land of Maradhoo, they could have got a better land in return,
